Sundays in 'My' City

This week, I wanted to show you another of the fun Washington state towns that I visited on my little excursion to & from (to & fro? hither & yon?) Leavenworth, WA.

Cashmere, WA
Home of the Aplet & Cotlet factory
This is it, no really, this is the factory. My husband & son took the factory tour, complete with silly caps to cover your hair. The whole tour took less than 5 minutes. It was two rooms, that make all of the Aplets & Cotlets distributed around the world!

Railroad across from the factory...

More railroad...

 The end of the tracks.

It's a small town...There is a small downtown area, with kind of an old west feel. We ate lunch in a 50's style diner (that had delicious hand cut potato chips). This was in the same building as a huge antique mall. I got a great vintage slide box that opens on both sides & my husband bought a "Unibomber Cap." It, um. looks very warm? We had a fun side trip & I love the slide case! (The hat, not so much...) SAM

I ADORE towns with 50's vibes! They're so charming; especially when you eat at a 50's diner to boot. Any egg custards? :P

I think it's amazing that a small factory such as Aplet & Cotlet is able to have its products distributed worldwide.

I would've loved to have seen pics of that 50's style diner that you had lunch in :)

I too, would love to see photos of the 50's diner! We love to eat in diners, not the modern franchised type places.

I had to look up Aplet & Cotlet because I didn't know what they were. I love the train track shots.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the diner. It was kind of unremarkable on the outside. Inside, its walls were covered with memorabilia, like old albums (some of which would have been valuable, if they hadn't been put on the wall, but they were really interesting) & it had an old juke box. They had lots of great things in the antique mall.
